Some repairs are part- or section-specific, and if you are wondering which part of a pre-owned home that's usually in need of a repair or renovation, that would most likely be the kitchen. Because contrary to popular belief, kitchen renovations need not be expensive and time consuming. There are several ways to help give your kitchen a new look.

Walls. Choose nice, clean and calm colors when painting the walls in your kitchen. Try bright colors such as sunshine or pastel yellow, light green and baby blue. The light color will create an illusion and will give your kitchen new and larger dimension.

Floor. You really don't need to install new tiles or floors, especially if the flooring is still in good shape.

Use light colored drapes and blinds for your windows. But if you have a windowless kitchen, ask a trusted interior designer where you can install the appropriate lighting system to make your kitchen look bigger and brighter. Lighting fixtures installed under cabinets will work best for this type of kitchen. You may also arrange scented candles or odor eliminating candles on your kitchen counter to add light and make your condo kitchen look chic.

Paint your cabinets white. There are those that give off a glossy shine, this will help the light bounce back and around the room, without the need to install high powered light bulbs that consume a huge amount of electricity

Decorating your kitchen walls is also easy. If you have very limited space in your kitchen, you do not need bulky furniture - since those will only take up too much space. By Jacquelyn B Marks - EzineArticles.com

Designer Kitchen Renovation Tips

We've all been there drooling over the newest got-to-have styles or that new colour kitchen sink you saw while flipping through shelter magazines. One of the great challenges in design is keeping up with the trends. We must weed out the "one day wonders" and carefully select the more timeless and elegant trends.

During my pensive thoughts of the new trends for 2012, I had the pleasure of chatting with HGTV's Andrew Pike. I was to find out about the newest kitchen trends.

Kitchens are one of the most unique rooms in our homes. "Well, kitchen renovations cost a lot of more money than living room renovations."

I've seen 150,000 dollar kitchen renovations and I've also seen 1,500 dollar kitchen renovations. There are a few investment pieces in the kitchen that you can't skimp out on: first and foremost, the kitchen sink. Andrew showed me a few nice models from Blanco. What really caught my attention was coloured sinks. We looked at one of their neutral colours, truffle.

When it came time to look for faucets to go along with my new Truffle kitchen sink, Andrew guided me towards the new two tone Blanco faucets. These are faucets that have a colour base and a chromed neck.

Lastly, came the wall colours and flooring samples. Andrew believes that sinks are at the heart of every kitchen. He showed me how we can build an entire kitchen design based on our kitchen sink and faucet. By Marc J Atiyolil - EzineArticles.com
